A Glass Table is the ideal accessory to add a little glam to a room. It’s the perfect centerpiece to show off your favourite coffee table books and a vase of freshly cut gorgeous summer flowers.
We love the fact that it gives a room the illusion of more space, making glass furniture a great option for smaller interiors. However, it can also mean extra attention needed to keep clean, as fingerprints and marks will show up more on your lovely shiny glass surfaces.
Here’s a few ways to keep glass looking spotless.
Stubborn stains: Goodbye
Rely on a good old-fashioned formula of lemon juice and white vinegar. Mix one tablespoon of white vinegar, two tablespoons of lemon juice, and half a cup of warm water in a spray bottle. Spray generously and wipe off with a microfibre cloth, which will remove smudges and grime for a non-toxic handy cleaning solution.
Did you know you can also use fabric conditioner or bicarbonate of soda on stubborn stains too. Another method is to spray a solution of 1 part vinegar to 3 parts water and scrunch up old newspaper pages to wipe down. Repeat with clean sheets (using a circular motion) which are abrasive enough to remove stains scratch free, and as ink is extra absorbent, as well as newspaper pulp, it soaks up excess liquid easily leaving a dry clean shiny finish.
There are commercial cleaning products of course too, and your local glazer might be able to recommend one since glass is their trade.
Buff the surface regularly with a dry lint free cloth to keep it dust free and polished.
Use coasters
When serving drinks, use coasters to avoid those pesky watermarks, spillages, and stains. As well as protecting the glass table from hot drinks.
Keep glass furniture free of clutter which will help avoid dust. Less is more
Use charger plates and place mats
