Every year there seems to be a different insect or other critter that comes into my yard and gives me headaches. Some years it is Aphids, (a...
Like most field bosses, you’re better off tackling this one with Torrent. Greyll moves quickly, and its flying lunge covers an extensive area. It takes dying a few times to learn the best moment to dodge some of these deadlier moves, but galloping away saves both time and patience.
This fight is particularly tricky due to the confines of the greatbridge. If Greyll takes to the skies, he can run you down with a line of fire that's much harder to dodge than on open ground. You'll either have to quickly sprint under the dragon, or retreat to a safe distance before coming back.
Unlike (some) other field bosses, Greyll can fly. That means it changes location frequently and also has the potential to end up in areas disadvantageous to you. Should you be unable to reach it or wish to reset Greyll’s location, leave the bridge area and come back. So long as you don’t rest at a Site of Grace, Greyll’s health will remain at the state it was when you left. This can also happen if Greyll flies too far away from its starting spot in the lake. If you see the dragon disappear, head back to the lake and you'll find it waiting at the same HP you left off at.
Flying Dragon Greyll Attacks
Greyll has a wide range of moves, but it telegraphs most of them fairly clearly, making the learning process a bit more straightforward than it is with some bosses.
Flying Dragon Greyll Strategy
The fight against Greyll is one of attrition more than anything else. It takes a long time to whittle its health down, though while it's on the ground, you have a surprisingly long amount of time to slash at its wings and legs. The goal is staying behind Greyll, though it becomes progressively harder to do when it takes to the air.
Having a weapon at higher upgrade levels takes some of the sting out of this fight, since you’ll deal more damage. Magic wielders – especially those who use Incantations – will have a more difficult time given how finicky the aiming and distance are for some spells.
