Polished vs Satin Stainless Steel
Polished and Satin Stainless Steel are our newest finishes, crafted from the finest Marine Grade 316 Stainless Steel. Both are made with high concentrations of chromium and nickel; these products are incredibly hardwearing and offer extreme corrosion resistant properties, making them an excellent choice for salt-rich coastal locations and highly polluted city environments. For the most part, the manufacturing process is the same for each of these and involves a combination of hot forging with traditional anvil hammer work to create unique, hand forged products of the highest quality. The differences between our Polished and Satin Stainless Steel products lie in their outward appearances.
Polished Stainless Steel is a very high-sheen finish. It’s bright and reflective and glistens in the light to create a truly eye-catching focal point. This finish is crisp and versatile and looks most natural in cool contemporary settings. Complemented by natural wood and painted finishes alike, deep, rich colours such as slate grey, navy, and maroon frame this finish perfectly to create an undeniable statement. For complementary ironmongery, Polished Chrome has a strong resemblance to Polished SS, whereas Polished Nickel offers an interesting juxtaposition of metallics.

Satin Stainless Steel offers an understated, low sheen alternative to our Polished finish. It has a frosted surface with mesmerising mellow hues that accentuate its surroundings without overpowering them. This finish offers an intentional subtlety that works well with a wide variety of design styles and looks especially stunning against painted timber. We recommend pairing Satin Stainless Steel with pale shades and neutral colour schemes such as soft greys and pastel pinks. For complementary products, our Satin Chrome finish has a very similar appearance which can be used to coordinate ironmongery throughout your home.
